Current Exhibitions

Voices: Contemporary Ceramic Art from Sweden

June 16 - August 2, 2009  **exhibition extended one week**

Developed by the Swedish Institute and organized for tour by International Arts & Artists, Washington, DC.

Not to be confused with Voices from the Warehouse District or IKEA, this traveling exhibition presents current trends in Swedish ceramic art.  From quiet, elegant forms to wacky, surrealistic installations this exhibition is everything you would and wouldn't expect from Swedish fine crafts.

Event Horizon: 4-D Paintings by Ben Marxen

June 16 - August 23, 2008

Video, oil, and sculptural paintings that "jump off" the gallery walls.  Don't miss these truly original paintings.

Small Wonders: Still Life Paintings by Joseph Walter

May 15 - September 6, 2009

Organized by Dubuque Museum of Art

This selection of five beautiful still life paintings by Joseph Walter is the final in a three year series of exhibitions dedicated to this master painter from Austria who moved to Dubuque as a young man and was one of Dubuque's first artists.  In anticipation of a retrospective of his work opening in 2010, DMA is proud to present these wonderful examples of Walter's immense talent.
